We were off in good time this morning, and up the hill behind Masondray, called Ambohitsarabe, a stupendous crag rising 1,500 feet above the river Kitsamby. The upper part of the rock is in places perpendicular, and on the summit are the traces of several former villages ... the view down into the deep valley below: the river winding in its tortuous course, and a thousand hollows worn deep into the flanks of the hills by the streams which feed it.
